How this works

A small invited group is trying this out for a couple of weeks. Things may break, change, or disappear. It isn't a company and there's no support desk — just the person who invited you.

This is the whole idea, so it's worth being blunt about. You take one photo a day and answer prompts when you feel like it. You decide what to contribute — but you don't decide which pieces get shown to anyone.

The app picks a different handful of your past photos and answers each time someone opens your profile. You can't feature a favourite, hide a bad one, or put them in order.

Deleting is your only control, and it's absolute: a deleted photo or answer is gone and can never be shown to anyone again.

They have to be, or none of this works. They're kept until you delete them or close your account. They aren't sold, shared outside the app, or used to train anything.

Be aware they sit on ordinary server storage that isn't covered by the database backups. If something goes badly wrong, photos could be lost.

Chats aren't end-to-end encrypted. The person running this test can read what's in the database, including your messages, if they look.

Don't put anything here you'd mind them seeing.

When you check in, whose profiles you open, which of someone's moments you were shown, and when you ping or match. That's the point of the test — it's how we find out whether an uncurated profile is actually more interesting.

When you create an account and each time you sign in, we record the IP address you did it from. Not as you use the app — just those two moments.

It's there for one reason: if someone is removed for how they behaved, it makes it a little harder for them to walk straight back in with a new account. It isn't used to work out where you live, and it isn't shared.

Reports are read by a person — the one running this. If they conclude someone is making this unpleasant for other people, they can pause that account for a few days or close it for good.

A pause deletes nothing: your photos, answers, matches and conversations are untouched and come back with you. While it's on, your profile isn't shown to anyone. You'll be told which it is and when it ends, and you can always ask why and get a person's answer.

You can still delete your account, and still ask for a copy of your data, either way.

Settings → Delete my account removes your profile, every photo, your messages and your matches, and deletes the stored image files too. It happens immediately and can't be undone.

Feedback you've left stays, with your name detached from it.

Ask, and you'll get a file with everything we hold about you — your profile, every photo you've contributed, your check-ins and answers, your matches and the full text of those conversations, and a log of what you did in the app.

It's put together by hand, so give it a day or two. A few things are left out because they're about other people rather than you: who passed on your profile, who looked at it, and anything anyone has reported or blocked. Handing those over would expose someone else.

You need to be 18 or over to use this. Don't upload anything you don't have the right to, or anything you wouldn't show the person who invited you. You can block or report anyone, and reports are read by a human — the same one.
